It has been over 3 months since I last posted. I had every intention to turn this into a blog where I could share the images I take and share my experiences with horses, but then I just got busy and honestly lost to as what I should share on here.
However, I want to get back to blogger here, so I thought I would start with an update of what I am currently up to.
First of all, I am still working at Den Hele Ekvipage as a project leader of sorts, mostly helping with the business side of things, especially in terms of marketing, web design and social media. This has been the most fantastic experience and I have met some really fantastic people and I am looking forward to being with this group of people for a long time.
On Instagram, or maybe on the blog, I can’t quite remember, I mentioned something about taking a horse massage therapist education. I am no longer taking that, but instead am taking a horse physiotherapy that focuses on massage, craniosacral therapy, physio related therapy, as well as some other alternative treatments. I am just starting that now, and am looking very much forward to doing some hands-on education.
On top of that…. I have started an Equine Studies Diploma at Guelph University.
It is an online study, which is nice, as it means I can take it course by course when it fits into my schedule. I am currently enrolled in two courses and it has been very interesting. I have gained a lot of knowledge that I think I can apply to my work and will make me better at my job working at the stable. I think it is a great combination with my physiotherapy degree as it lets me connect the dots further.
And what about the horses in my life… well at the moment I still don’t have my own horse. I am working on that, and there is one, in particular, I have my eye on, but until things are confirmed there I probably won’t share much about that. If I am going to be honest since I last posted I have been super busy with the business side of things that I haven’t done a lot of stuff with horses. This means I haven’t done much with Angel, and while she is a lovely horse, she will never be my horse, which is really what I am after at the moment. But she is happy and content, so it isn’t like she is missing out on anything. Gwen has found a new owner as well (hopefully, she is on trial) and that is a good thing for her. But otherwise, the reality is, I have a heard of 30(ish) horses that I can hang out with whenever I want, so I am not lacking in the horse department.
I had started with riding lessons, but had some troubles with my back, and had to have that checked before continuing. Nothing could be seen on my scans, so I am in the clear to start that up again. I am hoping to get started riding one of the horses that is being stabled with us next week. My goal is one lesson a week, and riding three times a week. We will see how that goes. I have to start up in small steps to get my body conditioned to it to make sure to not trigger a bad fibromyalgia flare, but I am pretty determined to get started.
So what now?…
Well, I am hoping to start blogging her again on a regular basis. I want to blog about my experiences working at Den Hele Ekvipage, the interesting stuff I am learning in school, including my own thoughts on stuff, share some of my photography and in general, just my experiences being around horses. There is actually a lot of blog post ideas floating around in my head. I just need to get them written down. I have also decided I will be offering web design services, specifically targeting at the equine industry and equine bloggers…. but I will write more on that when I am ready. But because of that, you will probably see a new website design in the near future.
So that is the update on things in my world. I hope to be sharing a lot more soon.
