Now that the weather is warmer, my favorite time to shoot is in the mornings. There are a couple of reasons for this. The first is the quiet. If I get to the stable early enough, no one else has arrived and everything is still. This includes the horses, who are usually sleeping, both standing and laying. The light is also lovely at this time of day. It is a perfect combination…
The above picture is what I usually find. The horses are getting used to me being out in the field, and most of them will stay laying when I come out. Some I need to keep more distance than others.
For example this guy let me get pretty close to him. Now that I am looking at this photo again, I kind of wish I spent the time removing the stuff in the background. But on the other hand I kind of like it to stay as is. This particular morning was very calm and very pleasant.
This shot is from a different morning, but wonderful light.
And one from earlier this week.
I’m hoping to do some evening shots soon though, which I am sure will be great.
